Welcome to the Maine Airport Managers Association
MAMA was formed in the 1990s to provide a strong network of airport managers, town/city managers, department of public work staff and others responsible for the operation and management of Maine airports.
News from the FAA
LaVerne Reid, Division Manager for the FAA New England Region, carefully explained the three grant funding options during MAMA's Spring Conference that are currently available to airport sponsors for grants this fiscal year. Since reauthorization is currently funded under continuing resolution, it is important to understand the three options available to airport sponsors.
- Option 1 - Sponsors can “take grants now,” based on 75% entitlements and carry-over the remaining 25%. The deadline for this option is June 10
- Option 2 - Sponsors can take a “wait and see” approach. This must be declared to the FAA no later than June 1.
- Option 3 - "declare your intention” to carryover your partial year FY 2008 entitlements for use in FY 2009. You must notify the FAA before June 1.
A complete explanation of these options is in this Final AIP Implementation General Guidance and in the Federal Register Notice E8-6943.
